Elephant Kraal of Konni Eco Tourism
2. Konni Ecotourism:
The Konni Ecotourism center is located at about 10 kilometers from Pathanamthitta town. This eco-tourism center is more commonly called the Konni Elephant Camp. It is one of the oldest elephant training centers in Kerala.
Konni is among the top producer of clove and pepper in Southern India. This evergreen dense forest seated on the bank of river Achakovil is also famous for rubber plantations.
NB: Konni ecotourism is at a distance of 10km from Adavi ecotourism.
Ecotourism programs at Konni:
2.1 Elephant Kraal of Konni:
The large wooden cage that can house 3-4 adult elephants together is the essence of Konni Elephant training center. Elephants were tamed and trained here during the ancient period of time which was stopped a few years back.
Apart from the Kraal, Konni offers elephant ride, elephant sighting, elephant museum and a children’s park to its visitors. Elephant ride at Konni is available for a price of Rs 600/- (for 2 Persons).
